Shared budgeting

Plan together in one budget, with clear access for each person.

Invite someone to a particular budget and choose whether they can edit it or only view it. Other private budgets remain separate.

Illustrative example

A shared household budget

  1. Invite a partner to the household budget as an editor.
  2. Both can record transactions while the budget is active.
  3. Invite a third person as a viewer if they only need to follow the plan.

Example amounts and scenarios are illustrative, not a promise of financial results.

Choose how to plan together

Compare a shared budget, separate budgets, and a hybrid before you invite someone.

Share a budget, not your whole account

An invitation gives someone access to one budget. Your other private budgets stay separate. The owner manages invitations, member roles, and settings; editors can record transactions on an active budget, while viewers are read-only. You can review budgets you have access to together in Consolidated View without merging their individual plans.

Who it's for

For households or partners coordinating one plan without sharing every budget.

What you do

The budget owner invites a member and sets their role. Editors can work with transactions on an active budget; viewers can read it.

What you learn

Collaborate on the same numbers while keeping ownership and permissions clear.

Availability

Sharing requires an active budget and paid plans (Pro or above) for both the owner sending an invitation and the person accepting it. Only the owner manages members and settings; viewers are read-only.
